Meet Reece

A Queer, African American, Neurodivergent therapist rooting their work in radical compassion and validation

Hi! I’m Reece (they/them). Are you exploring who you are beyond how others told you to be? Maybe you are curious about OCD, autism, AD/HD, or other neurodivergent experiences, and want to understand yourself more deeply. Or perhaps you are queer or questioning and haven't found a therapist you feel safe with yet.

I specialize in helping fellow neurodivergent, queer, or questioning adults navigate their path toward self-acceptance and community.

As a Nonbinary, African American child of immigrants, I would be honored to help you cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself so that you can experience more safety, love, presence, and care in your day-to-day relationships. I believe feeling safe inside our bodies and relationships is critical to healing work and untangling early childhood messages that still interfere today.

I especially enjoy working with fellow BIPOC and queer folks, children of immigrants, as well as supporting those navigating spiritual and religious trauma. I also have special training in working with OCD and eating disorders from a de-pathologizing, nuanced perspective. I value an anti-carceral, abolitionist framework rooted in self-compassion and validation.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy reading (especially queer fiction), writing (often about my therapy interests), and watching Heartstopper. Some of the books that have most informed my work as a therapist include Decarcerating Disability by Liat Ben-Moshe and It's Always Been Ours by Jessica Wilson.

I would love the opportunity to partner with you in fostering a space for your most authentic self to emerge. Please click below to schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation!
