ABOUT FRANKIE

Hi there! I’m Frankie (she/her). Are you struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, childhood trauma, your sexuality, gender, religious trauma, addiction, or relational issues?

As a queer therapist located in Nashville, I specialize in the needs of the LGBTQ+ community, focusing on teens and young adults. As someone who has experienced religious trauma, I know the importance of having a safe space to process this hurt in a non-judgmental place.

I believe therapy should be a safe space to explore all parts of yourself. I have spent the last six years as a client with my own therapist working through my own experiences. I have come to a place of healing, calmness, and self-assuredness. I believe that every person is worthy and whole as they are and we all deserve to see the worth in ourselves.

Through my journey of realizing my queer identity, deconstructing and reconstructing my faith, walking through my own mental health journey, and growing in my own self- worth, I started down the road to study social work. I believe that along with therapy, there also needs to be a strong sense of social justice. I’ve valued my education and my personal journey because it has given me a fire to fight for the rights of those around me and those that I work with.

I would love the opportunity to work with you and learn about what makes you who you are. As a therapist, I have the privilege of holding sacred space for other individuals to work through a wide variety of issues. I hope to be able to hold space for you and everything that comes together to make you the person that is worthy of healing.

Outside of therapy, I love spending as much time as possible outside. I have a daily walking practice, walking anywhere between one to five miles a day. I have an eight year old Terrier rescue dog named Maggie that goes on walks with me. I love camping, hiking, swimming at the lake, or just sitting on my front porch with a nice cup of coffee. I find peace and clarity in my meditation practice as well.

As an intern at Healing Umbrella, I offer deep sliding scale rates. I am available for a free 15-minute consultation to see if I would be a good fit for you. I hope to meet and get to work with you in the future.

MY APPROACH TO THERAPY

I believe healing work needs to be a safe space. I think that healing can be difficult and dirty, and that's okay, I welcome all the nuances that come with it and welcome it with a soft touch and a warm heart. I understand trauma to be nuanced and complicated. Therapy can be messy and I encourage the mess. That's how we peek through to see the other side. Healing is not linear and it can hurt. I hope to be the person in the middle of the healing with you to help ground as you do the hard work to piece together those heavy pieces. I value transparency, honesty, and vulnerability in the therapy space. Therapy is a relationship and healing takes that relationship to some vulnerable places that I am ready to go to with you.
